The company is a subsidiary of Anta Sports.
Precor has a toxic working environment, horrible salary, employees are overworked and have no brakes, and there's no room to grow, according to a former Sales Manager at indeed.com
"Horrible pay. No retirement. Forced to work 9+ hours days with no lunch or breaks. Unreasonable goals. No room for growth. Need to be there over 40 hours with no overtime. The commission scale is extremely low and outdated for the cost of living in California. No customer traffic. Company culture is terrible. The owner treats employees like trash. Often times they do not pay their employees the correct commission pay."

Production Worker (Current Employee) says"Look up the company GKN local company. So im waiting for the sign to change to GKN because as soon as we got a new manager former GKN manager we seem to only be hiring workers from that company. Doesn't matter if they don't understand or have experience in line of work we do their hired! Pay them almost as much as workers who have experience and know the job that been there for years. That's what they are doing. Precor treats hard working non butt kissers terrible. Read other real reviews. NO ADVANCEMENT (unless you kiss butt or worked for GKN). Btw plant manager also from GKN. If you wanna work 55+ hours a week for terrible company who treats you like an prisoner but wait theres a but has great benifits and 4 weeks vacation a year if you call out and take it since they won't ever slow down for you to take it then go apply. I really can't believe this place is still open by the way it's ran and unskilled workers they hire. Oh btw don't buy this over priced equipment either because they put alot of spray paint on their products and built cheap by college kids. Feel bad for the workers who don't have an exit plan. Cons: All the above"

Add in the fact that they were recently bought by a Chinese conglomerate, it isn't going to be long before the failures of the management team force a move overseas."

You love your job and do everything to make it work but there's a lot of give and take and you don't receive the same. They work you like a slave and compensation its that great. You have to earn vacation. The company supposed to be a Monday-Thursday job but we have yet to work that since I been there. Now they did say during peak time Fridays would be mandatory and Saturdays optional. We were made to work mandatory 10 hours Saturday. They lie and wonder why their turnover is so terrible. N/A (Former Employee) says"Precor could be a place to retire, but it's poorly managed. They say we are ONE but that's not the case at all. It is clearly divided. Paint department only cares about paint, Assembly department only cares about Assembly, Upholstery department well they can't get along within their own department and Weld department the Infamous Weld department, they are to busy wondering what everybody else is doing and not paying attention to their own quality. Not all of them just a few individuals that think by doing what they do will move them up in rank but if they realize there's no where to climb. Some of the HR are really nasty and disrespectful towards production workers, make them feel like children just bc we don't make the type of money that they do. They force rules on us then they break the same rules. They hire family off the street and put them in well paid positions not giving another worker that knows the job a chance but instead they bring in individuals with absolutely no type of experience to come in and do a job that he/she have no clue what to do and guess what the people that's already established and knows the job have got to train the person they assigned. I'm sorry to say but I don't see this place lasting five years. Cons: Human Resource, Management, Lead Personnel, Pay Sucks, The list goes on and on!"

Assembly (Former Employee) says"The outside appearance of a great organization but once you come inside you quickly realize the truth. The good - great schedule, no weeks, (4) 10 hour days, fitness equipment, rideshare incentives, healthcare, mission statement, corporate giving/match program, location for me. The bad - visibly lazy upper management, disengaged HR, low morale, job postings not readily advertised to internal staff, unrealistic goals, flip flop emphasis on quality, lack of accountability for those who cheat on performance stats, blind eye to those in the workplace who are under the influence, divided culture of professional staff and floor staff and engineers who are out of touch with those who execute the builds, wasteful, inefficient use of supplies, poor production scheduling, constant fire drill mentality, lack of reception to new ideas, low salary compared to similar positions in the area. I'm not sure of what the CA Headquarters workplace culture is but they should definitely check on their other sites because this is not in line with the mission. They lie for the sake of lying, call for unwarranted overtime, constantly want to place blame on hourly employees, and generally have the attitude that you live/sleep/eat/breathe Precor. If you are a sales person the company spends a lot of money on you as evidenced by the sales kick off meeting where even inside sales got to stay at the local Hotel. Huge parties with lots of alcohol, and this is just one of many times these types of events for Sales happen. yet the same amount is not spent in employee engagement. Huge workload for people as they try and cut spending g to hit profit and sales targets that have not been reached In years. Management has also not been truthful regarding the sale of the company and has a lot of people worried about their jobs. HR does not take employee complaints seriously. Will use them against you."

Lots of dead weight coasting because managers and directors won’t be able to hire. Work keeps piling up and not given time to accomplish anything. Moral is super low. No training provided for customer service as everyone is needed to answer calls and can’t take time to provide the training and knowledge to prevent mistakes. Company parts website is a disaster and a huge PR nightmare President and SLT will do anything to save their jobs and protect themselves leaving employees to fend for themselves HR is not a department that can be trusted. Based on the actions of SLT and Directors, the company creed means nothing."
Emily Wilkinson says"I have been trying to source a new spin bike part from Precor for a number of weeks now. I need a new pedal crank and cannot use the spin bike until I can find one. I am a gym owner and run 4 spin classes a week - I am currently not able to fill the class because 1 bike is out of action, and this is costing me £20/week. I emailed precor enquiring as to whether they could help. They responded asking for the bike serial number. As it was the previous owner that bought the bikes, I do not have this so took photos of the bike and sent back to precor. That was nearly 4 weeks ago. I have heard nothing since even though I have sent a follow up email.

I have an S3.21 (strength training). The metal on the selector cam split apart at the point where the axle shaft attaches it to the frame. The cylinder portion of the metal cracked along the seam with the arm. The warranty did not cover this failure and I had to purchase the part. I don't feel that Precor is standing behind its product. This is not a wear and tear part such as a pulley, wheel, cable, or lever. It is a manufactured fixed piece of structural metal and it failed. As such, this Precor product did not meet a reasonable quality expectation.
